About the Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially astute and highly collaborative Finance Business Partner – Nuclear Capability Development (NCD) to provide strategic financial leadership, analysis, and decision support across a complex and highly regulated business environment.
Partnering closely with capability managers, project and program leaders, executives, and governance teams, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, development, and delivery of capability outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions through insightful financial analysis, robust budgeting and forecasting, performance reporting, and bid support activities.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will be a trusted advisor who can translate complex financial data into meaningful business insights while driving financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement across the NCD portfolio.
This is a full-time opportunity based in SA.
Responsibilities
- Partner with NCD leaders to provide strategic financial advice, insights, and decision support.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities across the NCD portfolio.
- Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and identify risks and opportunities to drive informed decision-making.
- Develop financial models, business cases, and bid support documentation for funding and investment initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
- Represent Finance in governance forums and drive continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements while promoting financial accountability and transparency.
About you
- Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline, with CA/CPA qualifications preferred.
- Proven experience in Finance Business Partnering, Management Accounting, Commercial Finance, or FP&A roles.
- Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and provide commercially focused recommendations to support decision-making.
- Experience working within complex project, program, or highly regulated environments, ideally Defence, Government, Engineering, or Infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems capability, coupled with a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and commitment to governance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
