About the Role:
The Resource Manager is a key role within the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) team, offering leadership and guidance to ensure outstanding service delivery. They play a crucial role in cultivating and advancing the on-site technical workforce, working closely with clients and the CBRE leadership team to achieve strategic goals.
This role reports directly to both the Alliance Manager and Area General Manager and is tasked with overseeing all contractual service commitments, SLAs, and KPIs. The resource manager ensures effective teamwork, enhances employee engagement, monitors individual performance and development, and improves retention.
What You'll Do:
Safety and competency assurance of CBRE employees through active monitoring, employee and customer feedback, audit, and incident and near-miss analysis
Managing the relationship with the customer’s site managers to ensure requirements are understood and delivery requirements are met
Engages with and supports the CBRE on-site team, providing resolution pathways for training, development and employee matters. Guide and advise both client and CBRE with apprentice internal and external training requirements
Monitoring and managing employees’ workload, utilization, and overtime hours
Oversight of resource demand and vacancies, support of the recruitment process to ensure timely appointment of quality candidates
Monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, participation in customer contract review meetings, KPI reporting.
Incident investigation oversight, reporting, and governance for CBRE, and investigation support for customer events
Ownership of employee rostering, maintain weekly deadlines and ensure accuracy in the rostering system (TANDA), including client and internal approvals, review and approval of CBRE invoices and claims
Subject Matter Expert Apprentice scheme, and support of trainees through their apprenticeships
Maintain industry knowledge via strong relationship with external stakeholders such as MEGT and RTOs
What You'll Need:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business, management, or a similar field, and/or five or more years’ experience leading large site-based teams operating in the critical infrastructure or Facilities Management operations mission critical
Experience
Previous experience as a team manager or service delivery manager in is essential, and a datacentre background is advantageous.
Skills and competences
Strong people leader and relationship management skills
Commercial experience gained in a service-based contracting environment, preferably within the datacentre industry
“Manager level” knowledge of applicable labour laws: this would extend to the Fair Work Act and the NES. Areas of focus would include:
Pay, entitlements
The relevant Award (Australia), hours of work etc
Rights to dismiss
Grievance handling
WHS legislation related to WRI etc
Role of unions
Understanding of Australian apprenticeship frameworks, pathways and funding
Sound knowledge of QHSE management legislation and practices, ideally gained within the mechanical (HVAC) and electrical work environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills (effective communication, negotiation, collaboration, the ability to be diplomatic and stand one’s ground), able to operate comfortably at multiple levels within CBRE and customer organisations
Important notes:
Good to have someone who has experiences in Human Resource/Workforce Planning /Outsourcing - Recruitment/People Management ideally dealing with Tradesman (Electrical/Mechanical - HVAC & R)/ Apprentices.
Understand the local guidelines/policy young workers/tradesman, liaise with School/TAFE/Apprentices Agency
Location of work - on site primarily in Sydney (Flexible to travel in between Site Huntingwood/Lane Cove)
