Horizon Coatings (NTH) Pty Ltd - Experienced Painter

Horizon Coatings is looking for a Painter to join our team. Horizon Coatings is a commercial painting company and we specialize in the fitout, refurbishment and repaint segments of painting. We require a well presented, self- motivated, English speaking, articulate person to fill the role of Painter. The successful applicant will report to the Project Supervisor.
Your duties will include:
- Responsible for painting of interior and exterior commercial sites as directed by the project supervisor;
- Responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, including filling holes, paint stripping; sanding, repairing woodwork, removing old paint or wallpaper, sealings surfaces;
- Inspecting surfaces to be painted;
- Responsible for cleaning equipment, work areas and any splatters that may have resulted while painting;
- Prepare and apply paint, using brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply the paint to the surface;
- Apply undercoats, oil based, gloss enamel, varnish or stain, low sheen acrylic to surfaces using brushes, rollers and spraying;
- Responsible for mixing paint and colour matching for the project;
- Manage required paint materials for the project;
- Supervising the painting process, and maintaining records making sure the work meets standards;
- Responsible to ensure health and safety requirements are met at each jobsite;
The successful applicant will need to be a qualified tradesman painter, hold Certificate III in Painting and Decorating and be capable of holding a NSW Contractor Painters License. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a professional painter.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience working on a number of painting projects simultaneously, showing a commitment to ongoing education and self-improvement either within the painting trade or other areas. Being multi-lingual is an advantage.
