We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sleep professional to join our Sleep Laboratory team as either a Senior Sleep Technologist or Senior Sleep Scientist in a full-time permanent role.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both clinical service delivery and cutting-edge sleep research. You will mentor and support junior sleep technologists, share your technical expertise, and foster a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement. Candidates appointed at the Senior Sleep Scientist level will also have opportunities to contribute to service management, staff supervision, quality initiatives, and operational leadership activities.
Key Responsibilities

Independently perform sleep studies, ensuring high standards of technical quality, accuracy and patient care
- Support clinical and research programs through high-quality sleep study data collection, analysis and documentation
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical, operational and research documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Train, mentor and support Sleep Technologists through on-the-job coaching, technical guidance to build team capability and maintain best-practice standards
- Identify, investigate and resolve equipment, quality and compliance issues, escalating complex matters where required and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential criteria
-
Tertiary qualification in a health-related or science discipline, or an equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience in sleep study setup, monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting for clinical and/or research purposes
- Appropriate accreditation in Sleep Science, Sleep Technology or Clinical Physiology (e.g. ACCP Level 2, Certification in Sleep Science), or eligibility to obtain accreditation
- Strong understanding of sleep and respiratory physiology, sleep disorders and diagnostic sleep investigation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy and documentation
- Experience providing training, mentoring or support to junior colleagues
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including daytime, evening and overnight shifts, and participate in on-call requirements where required
Desirable criteria

Member of Australia and New Zealand Sleep Science Association (ANZSSA) and/or Australasian Sleep Association (ASA).
- Appropriate accreditation for sleep technologists/physiologists (e.g. ACCP Level 2, Certification in Sleep Science).
- Experience in a clinical research environment.
- Experience in Compumedics sleep study hardware and software.
