Diesel Motor Mechanic

Opportunity to join highly qualified team providing quality mining maintenance

services and labour supply

Full time position
Position located in Mackay & Coalfields QLD

Frontline Equipment Maintenance is a leading provider of maintenance and repair services

to the mining and resources industry in Queensland. With over 20 years of experience, we

pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Our team

of skilled technicians work closely with our clients to ensure the reliable and efficient

operation of their equipment, helping to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.

Duties includes:

Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a range of heavy mining equipment and

machinery.

Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal performance and

reliability.

Liaise with clients and managers to ensure timely completion of all work.
Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with the intention of reducing the

occurrence of breakdowns.

Diagnosing and repairing: Identifying and fixing faults in diesel engines, heavy

diesel equipment including dozer, graders and other mechanical parts, such as

transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes

Performing routine maintenance, as well as full engine overhauls or rebuilds
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts to ensure they are performing properly
Inspecting vehicles
Communicating with vehicle operators about problems
Create an efficient workshop by working within a team environment and to certain

deadlines.

Assist in training apprentices by working closely with them and explaining

mechanical procedures

To be responsible for the proper care and operation of any plant, tools or machinery

used within the workplace.

Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures of Frontline Equipment.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a similar role
Ability to carry out mechanical tasks with minimal supervision or no supervision.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and to make independent decisions.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work within a team environment.
Possess a driver’s licence. HR or HC desirable.
Preferred certified Tradesperson, Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Certificate III or

Diesel Fitter qualifications or related qualifications
