Duties includes:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a range of heavy mining equipment and
machinery.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal performance and
reliability.
- Liaise with clients and managers to ensure timely completion of all work.
- Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with the intention of reducing the
occurrence of breakdowns.
- Diagnosing and repairing: Identifying and fixing faults in diesel engines, heavy
diesel equipment including dozer, graders and other mechanical parts, such as
transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes
- Performing routine maintenance, as well as full engine overhauls or rebuilds
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts to ensure they are performing properly
- Inspecting vehicles
- Communicating with vehicle operators about problems
- Create an efficient workshop by working within a team environment and to certain
deadlines.
- Assist in training apprentices by working closely with them and explaining
mechanical procedures
- To be responsible for the proper care and operation of any plant, tools or machinery
used within the workplace.
- Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
- Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures of Frontline Equipment.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a similar role
- Ability to carry out mechanical tasks with minimal supervision or no supervision.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and to make independent decisions.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work within a team environment.
- Possess a driver’s licence. HR or HC desirable.
- Preferred certified Tradesperson, Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Certificate III or
Diesel Fitter qualifications or related qualifications
