2x Full-time, fixed term VPS2.1 positions until 30 June 2027
Roles are based in the Melbourne CBD, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week

The Supreme Court of Victoria is seeking motivated, team focused individuals to join the Civil arm of the Supreme Court Registry. The Registry provides case management support and other services to the judiciary, court users and the public. Registry Officers are responsible for undertaking a variety of administrative support functions within the Registry.

About us

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in the State. Its Registry has two arms - Civil and Appeals & Crime. The Civil arm within which these roles primarily operate supports the Common Law Division, Commercial Court, Costs Court, and incorporates the Office of the Prothonotary. The Court recognises that its people are integral to its ability to meet and exceed community expectations and to achieve its goal of being an outstanding superior court. About the roles

The role of a Registry Officer is challenging and varied. Working as part of a large team within the Civil arm of Registry, the successful applicants will perform a wide range of administrative tasks, including:

Checking court documents for compliance with Rules
Taking receipt of filed documents and completing financial transactions (via counter service or electronic filing facilities)
Providing guidance and support to Registry users regarding policy, practice and procedure
Maintaining the Court's electronic case management system, filing of documents/correspondence, file maintenance and preparation
Assisting with processing and receipt of subpoenaed materials
Preparing and authenticating Court orders
Maintaining and monitoring lists of cases and liaising with the chambers of judicial officers to ensure the smooth operation of the Court
Establishing and maintaining trusting working relationships with Registry Lawyers and Associates
Undertaking other necessary administrative functions in order to support the operations of the Court in an increasingly digitalised environment
