The Senior Systems Engineer in the Regulatory Projects team will have a high level of technical expertise to support Optus in meeting a range of regulatory obligations. The role also requires strong stakeholder management skills, as you will regularly meet with representatives from government agencies, vendors, and internal teams. You will be responsible for supporting innovative technical solutions to address customer requirements and government initiatives through the solution’s life cycle.

What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of
Developing and supporting solutions for Optus to meet its obligations under the Telecommunications Act to provide industry assistance on national interest matters.
Supporting the build, development, and maintenance of regulatory solutions for any of the Optus products or offerings in the market.
Supporting existing regulatory solutions, systems, and infrastructure.
Acting as a point of contact for support to government agencies using regulatory solutions provided by Optus.
Participating in security risk assessments and maintaining the security architecture for regulatory systems.
What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role?
Experience in full stack, end to end, systems design and engineering, including infrastructure build and operate.
Strong Linux experience is essential.
Virtualization (Proxmox) and Kubernetes (Rancher) experience.
Software development using:
Go (essential)
Rust (familiarity, desire to develop the skillset is essential)
Python (desired, not essential)
Gitlab CICD and SDLC
Experience leveraging modern cloud native designs, tooling and patterns in an entirely on-premises environment. E.g. Terraform, Ansible, Packer etc.
Datacenter experience including the installation and maintenance of server, network and storage equipment.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/Engineering; cybersecurity certifications are an advantage.
Data analytics abilities desirable.
