What You’ll Do
Partnering closely with the Associate Director, Regulatory Programs, and working with key internal and external stakeholders, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain regulatory systems and solutions supporting Optus’ obligations under telecommunications legislation and national interest initiatives
Support end-to-end solution delivery, from architecture and development through to operations and lifecycle management
Act as a technical point of contact for government agencies and stakeholders, ensuring continuity and reliability of regulatory platforms
Maintain and enhance secure, highly available, and scalable systems infrastructure
Contribute to security architecture, risk assessments, and compliance activities for sensitive regulatory environments
Collaborate across Networks, Legal & Regulatory, vendors, and external agencies to deliver innovative and compliant technical outcomes
Drive continuous improvement through automation, modern engineering practices, and emerging technologies
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience in systems engineering or infrastructure engineering, ideally within telecommunications or highly regulated environments
Strong expertise in distributed systems, infrastructure, and network technologies
Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern engineering tools
Experience designing and supporting secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable solutions
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical audiences
Exposure to 4G/5G networks and data analytics is highly desirable
Relevant qualifications in Computer Science or Engineering, with cybersecurity certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM) advantageous
Due to the nature of this role, you must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an Australian Government security clearance, requiring citizenship and residency criteria.
