Ability Action Australia is growing — and we’re looking for our next Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our incredible team.

Whether you're an experienced BSP or come from a strong background in the disability sector, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities will include:

Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life
Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

To be considered suitable you will have:

Demonstrated experience working with disabilities and challenging behaviours
Disability &/or Mental Health support work experience essential.
Degree level qualifications of relevance to providing support to people with behaviours of concern are highly preferred
Commitment to person-centred practice and reducing restrictive interventions
Strong report writing skills and the ability to translate assessment findings into clear, actionable plans
