MD Fresh Produce Darwin Pty Ltd is a leading supplier of wholesale and retail fresh and processed fruits and vegetables and operates a retail supermarket business based in Darwin, Australia. The company was established to provide high-quality produce to government institutions, private hospital groups, and large-scale commercial and retail clients. MD Fresh Produce Darwin Pty Ltd has built a strong reputation for delivering safe, certified, and high-quality fresh and processed products.
We require a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the supply chain operations of the company’s distribution division. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for organising, coordinating, and managing the supply and distribution of products, ensuring that stock is available when required and that supply chain operations are efficient and cost-effective.
The key responsibilities and duties of the position will include the following:
1. Overall in charge of supply and distribution operations.
2. Monitoring and supervising supply team, which includes: customer service team (order taking staff), warehouse staff and delivery staff.
3. Exploring options to improve supply chain networks and adopt reliable storage and fast distribution procedures.
4. Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate efficient deliveries. Implement new or improved supply chain processes and plans.
5. Develop policies and strategies for effective operations of the supply unit.
6. Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
7. Monitoring purchase and ensure the products are stored within the prescribed temperatures and storing conditions.
8. Check stock levels to meet the supply demands including re-ordering and re-stocking promptly.
9. Organise appropriate material handling equipment including forklifts etc., and arrange sufficient staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials to control stock and meet demand.
10. Ensure the products are delivered promptly with quality.
11. Communicating with wholesalers and retailers to make sure they receive their goods on time and in the right condition.
12. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers. Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
13. Develop, review and implement cost effective transportation infrastructure. Select distribution routes to maximize economy gains by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
14. Supervise, monitor and Training the teams: delivery, warehouse and customer service.
15. Track all consignments clearing from warehouse until it is delivered to the customers.
16. Use effective and efficient software to track all supply and delivery movements.
17. Responsible for purchase of high quality products at competent price, store fruit, vegetables and other products to maintain their quality and freshness and distribute orders in most efficient way at first come first serve basis.
18. Use negotiation skills to secure contracts with suppliers, wholesalers and retailers making sure that all conditions are addressed to ensure quality products are delivered in most efficient and economic way.
19. Maintain paperwork related to contract with all suppliers and perform other miscellaneous management duties.
20. Implement and follow Occupational Health & Safety regulations and laws

Education & Qualifications: Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Business Administration, Management, Logistic, or a closely related field or 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification
Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time relevant work experience
Remuneration: The full-time position offers an annual salary of $86,500 plus superannuation
Employment Conditions: Employment entitlements will align with the National Employment Standards and relevant Fair Work instruments, as stipulated by the Australian Government.
