The role
Join a team that is central to maintaining the integrity of our workforce framework, ensuring organisational establishment and employment conditions remain accurate, compliant and fit for purpose.
As a Specialist Compliance Advisor, you'll provide advice and support on a broad range of complex people matters, helping to resolve challenging cases and support pre-recruitment and employment verification checking processes and organisational change activities. Working closely with the Manager People Compliance, P&C teams and leaders across the department, you'll coordinate workforce-related requests and contribute to the successful delivery of organisational and structural change initiatives.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes by supporting accurate and compliant people services, workforce information and system outcomes. Your expertise will help build confidence in workforce processes and support informed decision-making, while ensuring activities are aligned with legislation, policy and best practice.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies and procedures, including the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (GSE Act), to provide sound advice and deliver compliant workforce outcomes across recruitment, employment and organisational change activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information, identify compliance risks, interpret legislative and policy requirements, and develop practical, risk-aware solutions to workforce matters.
- A customer-focused and collaborative approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide practical advice and support to People & Culture teams, leaders and other stakeholders across a complex organisational environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, enabling you to explain complex requirements clearly, influence outcomes, and work collaboratively to deliver accurate, consistent and compliant people services.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs, including responding to urgent and high-priority requests while maintaining quality, accuracy and service standards in a high-volume environment.
- A strong focus on accuracy, quality and continuous improvement, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to ensure workforce information, system outcomes and employment actions are compliant, consistent and fit for purpose.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources or related discipline, or relevant equivalent experience.
