About the role
As a SHEQ Advisor, you will support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems across a diverse range of projects and operational activities.
Working closely with leaders, employees, subcontractors and key stakeholders, you will assist in ensuring compliance with legislative, contractual and company requirements while contributing to a safe, effective and high-performing workplace.
You will be involved in risk identification and management, incident investigations, workplace inspections, audits and compliance monitoring, helping to identify opportunities for improvement and supporting the implementation of corrective and preventative actions. The role will also play an important part in maintaining SHEQ records and systems, preparing documentation and reports, coordinating training and inductions, and monitoring performance against key safety and quality objectives.
As a visible and trusted advisor, you will provide practical guidance to operational teams on critical risk activities, support permit and compliance processes, and contribute to fostering a positive safety culture where hazard reporting, accountability and continuous improvement are encouraged at every level.

About you
You are a collaborative and motivated safety professional with experience supporting health, safety, environment and quality functions within a complex operational environment. You enjoy partnering with stakeholders, building positive working relationships and delivering practical solutions that support both compliance and operational success.
You have a strong understanding of work health and safety legislation, safety management systems and operational risk management practices. Your attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to communicate effectively enable you to confidently investigate incidents, conduct audits, identify trends and contribute to meaningful improvement initiatives.
You are organised, adaptable and comfortable working across multiple priorities, maintaining accurate records and supporting teams to achieve their safety and quality objectives. Most importantly, you are passionate about creating safer workplaces and helping drive a culture where people feel empowered to speak up, report hazards and contribute to continuous improvement.
To be successful, you will bring approximately four years' experience in a similar health, safety, environment or quality advisory role, along with experience conducting operational audits, participating in incident investigations and managing hazard and safety reporting processes.
You will hold tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, Risk, Quality or a related discipline, supported by a Diploma or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or equivalent experience. Qualifications in auditing, recognised investigation methodologies such as ICAM, TapRooT or TopSet, and NEBOSH certification will be highly regarded.
