About Us
At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers. About the Role
Fortify is a major regulatory program responding to significant reforms in the financial crime and external fraud landscape, including changes to AML/CTF laws, the Scams Prevention Framework and expanded sanctions expectations. As part of the Program, we’re transforming how we manage Financial Crime risk globally, delivering scalable, compliant and customer-focused technology outcomes that help protect our customers, communities and the Bank.
The Program’s Technology Enablement Management function sits at the centre of this transformation, helping translate value stream priorities into clear, prioritised and delivery-ready technology demand. As the Senior Technical Analyst – Technology Enablement , you will play a critical role in shaping and assessing new and changed technology demand across Fortify value streams, working with business, risk, architecture, technology, portfolio and delivery teams to clarify scope, impacts, dependencies, assumptions and delivery considerations.
You will bring structure to complex and often ambiguous requirements, support impact assessment across platforms and technology services, and help ensure demand is sufficiently understood before it moves into estimation, sequencing, funding or delivery planning. This role is ideal for someone who can connect business intent with technology implications, challenge constructively, and provide clear analysis to support effective prioritisation and decision-making.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
Role Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Role Location: Melbourne or Brisbane
Work Hours: Full-Time What will your day look like?
As a Tech Analyst, you are accountable to:
Assess and shape demand: Work with value streams and stakeholders to clarify business outcomes, regulatory drivers, scope boundaries, urgency, risks, assumptions and success criteria for new and changed technology demand.
Translate requirements into technology impacts: Analyse high-level requirements and work packages to identify impacted capabilities, platforms, systems, data flows, interfaces, controls, non-functional considerations and dependencies.
Technology requirements for options analysis: Elicit and workshop technical requirements with a range of technology stakeholders to support options analysis.
Support prioritisation and triage: Provide structured analysis to support demand triage, prioritisation and sequencing decisions, including regulatory alignment, delivery readiness, dependency complexity, customer impact and available capacity.
Maintain demand traceability: Help maintain a transparent demand backlog, ensuring requests are documented with clear ownership, status, decisions, dependencies, open questions and next steps.
Engage across delivery teams: Partner with architecture, technology platform owners, delivery leads, data teams, security, assurance, operations and business SMEs to validate and map impacts to prepare demand for estimation or delivery planning.
Prepare decision-ready artefacts: Produce concise analysis, briefing notes, impact summaries and visual artefacts that help senior stakeholders understand demand, trade-offs and recommended next steps.
Technical work packages: Document technical scope and success criteria for technology-assigned work packages, with traceability mapping aligned to business work packages.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Technology analysis expertise: Strong experience as a Technical Analyst, Business Analyst or Systems Analyst on complex technology programs, with the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into practical technology implications.
Demand and portfolio mindset: Ability to assess competing demand, clarify readiness, identify trade-offs and provide structured analysis that supports prioritisation, sequencing, estimation and funding decisions.
Systems and data understanding: Confidence working across complex application landscapes, data flows, integration points, controls, non-functional requirements and operational processes. Experience with capability mapping, impact assessment or requirements traceability would be valued.
Stakeholder engagement: Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business, risk, architecture, technology, portfolio and delivery teams. You can ask the right questions, challenge constructively and build shared understanding across diverse groups.
Clear communication: Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills. You can turn complex information into clear, concise artefacts for senior stakeholders, including options, impacts, dependencies, decisions and recommended next steps.
Delivery discipline: Strong attention to detail, comfort working with ambiguity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining momentum, traceability and quality.
Financial Crime and regulatory change context: Experience working in financial services, risk, compliance or regulatory change environments. Familiarity with AML/CTF, scams, sanctions, KYC, monitoring, reporting or customer protection obligations would be highly regarded.
