Full Job Description

What’s the role?

As a Senior Commercial Manager within Group Technology, you’ll play a key role in supporting Westpac’s IT portfolio. You’ll lead commercial and contractual delivery across a range of strategic sourcing activities- working closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and senior leaders to ensure outcomes that are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney, with a hybrid working arrangement in office two days per week. It offers the opportunity to influence sourcing strategy and supplier performance in a dynamic, tech-driven environment.

What do I need?

This is a unique opportunity to collaborate and leverage your expertise to drive innovation and challenge the status quo.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

IT procurement experience preferred (flexible, not mandatory)
Understanding of technology and experience with contracts; procurement experience not required if transferable skills are present
Sales solution or commercial background (e.g., working for vendors)
IT background or legal experience (lawyer)
Understanding of relevant business and technology products and services. Experience in or exposure to banking and/or FSI will be highly regarded.
Proficiency in interpreting and drafting commercial contracts with the ability to manage multiple transactions, ensuring every agreement delivers maximum value and mitigates risk.
Highly developed skills in negotiation of long-term sourcing agreements, demonstrating commercial and business acumen and pragmatism.
Proven stakeholder management skills, including working with senior leaders and service owners and with suppliers.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, law, commerce, engineering or a related field.
