Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role
The Operational Communications Technical Officer supports the delivery and reliability of mission-critical communication systems within the ECIS team, ensuring effective operation, monitoring and improvement of radio, voice, mobile data and messaging services across the TZV environment.
Working under the Senior Manager, the role partners with internal teams, vendors and emergency service agencies to maintain system availability and performance in a 24/7 environment, contributing to incident management, testing, service improvement and operational readiness activities.
Day to day responsibilities include:

Support the operation, monitoring and maintenance of radio, voice, data and messaging services

Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to resolve incidents and maintain service availability

Assist in service monitoring, reporting and performance management activities

Contribute to testing, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives

Support operational readiness, disaster recovery and business continuity activities

Maintain documentation, procedures and technical artefacts to support service delivery
About You
You are a technically capable and collaborative professional with experience supporting communications or operational technology in a complex environment. You bring strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

Demonstrated experience supporting operational technology, telecommunications, communications, networking, radio, mobile data or related technical service in a complex mission critical 24/7 environment.

Experience with interpreting, measuring and understanding vendor performance for operational services.

Demonstrated experience in service delivery and service ownership of technology communication services, possibly including P25, Tetra, VHF, DMR, dispatch messaging, alert messaging, private mobile data networks, situational awareness.

Experience monitoring service delivery, performance, maintenance and compliance through third party providers.

Experience engaging directly with business stakeholders to define and prioritise and communicate needs

Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors without direct authority
