The Opportunity
The Senior ePMO Analyst plays a critical role within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO), supporting the effective governance, management and delivery of the organisation’s project and portfolio investments. The role is responsible for promoting and embedding ePMO governance practices across the organisation in alignment with the Project Management Framework (PMF), ensuring projects and programs are delivered with transparency, consistency and strategic alignment.
Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior ePMO Analyst partners with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to provide portfolio management expertise, governance support, performance insights and assurance activities that enable informed decision-making and successful delivery outcomes. This includes championing the effective use of the PMF toolkit, providing education and guidance to project teams and stakeholders, and delivering assurance activities that enhance project health, delivery confidence and benefits realisation.
As a key member of the ePMO, the Senior ePMO Analyst drives the uplift of portfolio management maturity, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and supports the development of governance capabilities, standards and processes that enable successful delivery of strategic objectives across the enterprise. The Senior Portfolio Analyst reports to the ePMO Lead and operates as a senior member of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, governance, monitoring and reporting of Melton City Council’s ePMO, ensuring alignment with the Council and Wellbeing Plan 2021–2025 and strategic objectives.
- Promote and support adherence to the PMF, driving consistent project governance and continuous improvement across Council.
- Provide governance advice and support to the Executive Leadership Team, Project Sponsors and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle, including Stage Gate Reviews and assurance activities.
- Guide Project Managers in managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, change management and benefits realisation.
- Support portfolio planning, initiative prioritisation and portfolio development to ensure resources and investments are aligned with organisational priorities.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the performance and health of Council’s portfolio of programs and projects, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for improvement.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary education with relevant degree and combination of relevant further formal qualifications, alternatively lesser formal qualifications together with extensive and diverse experience in project management.
- Demonstrated experience in project and portfolio management, including the development and implementation of frameworks, methodologies, governance practices and assurance processes.
- Practical experience supporting and delivering projects using both traditional waterfall and agile delivery approaches.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and provide practical solutions in complex environments.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
