Description:
HC Forklift Company is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Engineering Technologist to join its engineering team on a full-time basis. The position will support the design, modification, testing and practical implementation of engineering technologies used in custom-designed forklift projects.
The successful candidate will apply engineering principles and technological knowledge to analyse existing forklift systems, modify engineering processes, assess materials and components, and assist with the practical delivery of specialised forklift solutions. The role involves a combination of office-based engineering work and on-site project support.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analysing, testing and modifying existing forklift technologies, components, materials and engineering processes to meet specific project requirements.
· Applying engineering principles to assist in the design, development, modification and implementation of custom forklift systems and related automation devices.
· Investigating and resolving technical issues arising during the design, modification, testing and delivery phases of forklift engineering projects.
· Assisting with the development and implementation of production and assembly processes, from raw material and component receipt through to finished forklift delivery.
· Preparing, maintaining and updating engineering project documentation, including drawings, material specifications, technical reports and related project records.
· Providing technical advice to supervisors, project staff and production personnel regarding engineering modifications, alternative materials, equipment selection and process improvements.
· Measuring, testing and improving materials, processes, systems and components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, performance standards and functional requirements.
· Assisting with project planning, scheduling, resource allocation and tracking of materials and components to support timely project delivery.
· Monitoring component stock levels, preparing material reports, and supporting procurement and ordering requirements for engineering projects.
· Estimating project costs based on approved scope requirements and monitoring project expenses against allocated budgets.
· Ensuring that the design, modification, manufacture and installation of forklift technologies and automation devices comply with applicable health, safety and environmental requirements.
· Monitoring engineering project progress, coordinating technical activities and assisting in the resolution of project delays, defects or technical problems.
· Actively reviewing workplace practices to ensure adherence to correct engineering standards, safety procedures and environmental performance requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
· A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in engineering, engineering technology, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a closely related discipline.
· At least three years of relevant experience working with forklift technologies, industrial equipment, automation systems, mechanical systems or related engineering technologies.
· Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to practical design, modification, testing and process-improvement activities.
· Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret drawings, specifications, component requirements and engineering project documentation.
· Experience assisting with engineering project delivery, technical problem-solving, process improvement and materials or component coordination.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work with engineering, production and project teams.
· Bilingual Mandarin and English language skills are desirable due to supplier, technical documentation and project communication requirements.
Employment Conditions:
This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week. The salary offered is $82,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation, subject to the applicant’s qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
