ABOUT THE POSITION

TLEA is welcoming applications for a full time Lead Engineer Process to join our team working at our Kwinana plant.
The successful applicant will develop and manage process design to help Tianqi achieve its goal of producing the world’s highest-quality, most cost-effective lithium.
In addition to possessing our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this position will suit an individual with prior experience of Brownfields environments and operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development, review and approval of key process engineering deliverables, including design basis, heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs and control philosophies.
Define and maintain process design standards, engineering practices and technical documentation.
Lead process engineering input to feasibility studies, concept selection, FEED and detailed design activities.
Identify plant constraints and debottlenecking opportunities, developing technically robust improvement solutions.
Review and assure the quality of process engineering deliverables produced by consultants, contractors and technology providers.
Ensure process designs comply with statutory, regulatory and company engineering requirements.
Lead process safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and other risk assessment activities.
Support project execution through design, construction, commissioning and startup phases, ensuring process design intent is maintained.
Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for complex process and plant performance issues.
Lead, mentor and develop the Process Engineering team, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, project and operational teams to deliver safe, reliable and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
Develop technical scopes of work, engineering estimates and capital project justifications to support investment decisions and business planning.
Support budget development and management for process engineering activities and assigned capital improvement projects.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
10+ years of process engineering experience in refining, minerals processing, chemical manufacturing or similar heavy industry.
Strong process design, process safety and brownfield project delivery experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting capital projects through feasibility, FEED, detailed design, commissioning and start-up.
Proven leadership experience managing and developing process engineering teams.
Practical, safety-focused professional with a track record of driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.

TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.
Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
