About the Team
Within this group, KPMG’s China Business Practice plays a pivotal role in advising clients engaging with China across inbound and outbound investment, operations, and structuring. Working closely with our Business & Tax Advisory team and global China network, we support private businesses, family groups, foreign-invested enterprises and listed companies to operate efficiently and compliantly across borders.
Job Description
As a Senior Advisor, you will work closely with clients and senior team members to deliver high-quality tax and business advisory services to China-connected businesses.
Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of tax and business advisory services for China-connected clients, including private businesses, family groups and foreign-invested enterprises

Assist in the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, tax provisions and other compliance obligations

Conduct technical research and assist in preparing advice on Australian tax and cross-border business matters

Work closely with Managers and senior team members to deliver high-quality client outcomes

Assist with client communications and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner

Coordinate engagement activities, monitor deadlines and maintain project documentation

Collaborate with specialists across KPMG Australia, China and the global network to support client engagements

Contribute to the preparation of proposals, presentations and other business development materials

Maintain a strong understanding of tax legislation and regulatory developments relevant to China-connected businesses

Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing across the team
How Are You Extraordinary?

Experience working with China-connected clients or cross-border business environments is highly regarded

Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and/or written) is highly regarded

Proven experience in tax advisory, business services, business advisory or professional services

Sound understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements

Exposure to international tax, cross-border business matters or China-related engagements is advantageous

Experience preparing and delivering client work within agreed timeframes

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to build effective working relationships and contribute positively to a team environment

A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering quality client service
Qualifications

Completed or near-completed CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification
