As part of this strategic growth area, you will work with cyber security, technology, risk, and regulatory specialists to support some of Australia's most complex organisations across financial services, government, defence, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. Together, we are helping clients navigate the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption while shaping the future of trusted and secure AI
Your Opportunity
As an Associate Director within our Security of AI (Trusted AI) team, you will play a pivotal role in translating AI security strategy into practical client outcomes. Sitting at the intersection of cyber security, emerging technology, and business transformation, you will lead the delivery of complex AI security engagements while helping build the methodologies, frameworks, and capabilities that support the growth of this market-leading practice.
You will work across two key focus areas:

Security for AI, including AI governance, AI identity and access management, AI risk assessments, secure AI development, adversarial testing, and regulatory compliance.

AI in Security, including AI-driven threat detection, AI-enabled security operations, automated threat hunting, vulnerability prioritisation, and continuous cyber risk monitoring. Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI security engagements, including scoping, solution design, implementation, quality assurance, and client outcomes.

Design and implement AI governance frameworks, AI risk management approaches, AI identity and access management solutions, and secure AI operating models.

Conduct AI security assessments, adversarial testing, AI risk reviews, and secure AI development initiatives.

Support the integration of AI-driven capabilities into cyber security operations, threat detection, and continuous monitoring services.

Develop reusable frameworks, methodologies, accelerators, templates, and delivery assets that enable scalable client delivery.

Contribute to thought leadership through industry presentations, workshops, publications, webinars, and client-facing content.

Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders including CISOs, CIOs, Chief Risk Officers, and AI leaders.

Lead technical responses for proposals, tenders, and business development opportunities.

Facilitate client workshops, discovery sessions, governance assessments, maturity reviews, and roadmap engagements.

Mentor and develop Managers, Senior Consultants, and Consultants, supporting capability growth across the team.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, alliance partners, and global subject matter specialists to enhance client outcomes and service innovation.

Ensure all deliverables align with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and KPMG's ethical AI principles.

Your Experience
We are seeking an experienced cyber security, AI security, or technology risk professional with strong delivery leadership and client-facing experience.
You will bring experience in several of the following areas:

AI governance, AI risk management, AI model assurance, AI identity and access management, adversarial AI, secure AI development, or AI security operations.

Cyber security disciplines including identity and access management, privileged access management, security architecture, threat modelling, security operations, governance, risk and compliance, or security engineering.

Leading or delivering complex cyber security, technology risk, or transformation engagements in consulting, professional services, industry, or government environments.

Building trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders across executive and operational levels.

Delivering projects in highly regulated industries such as financial services, government, defence, healthcare, or critical infrastructure.

Cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP, and modern technology environments using automation, containerisation, and infrastructure as code.

Developing technical documentation, frameworks, policies, standards, and client-ready reports.

Supporting business development, proposal development, and solution design activities.

Leading teams, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to capability development initiatives.

Demonstrated experience in cyber security, AI security, technology risk, or a related field.

Experience working with modern cloud, security, automation, or AI technology platforms is desirable.

Consulting, professional services, or large-scale enterprise experience will be highly regarded.
