Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our residential building team. This role will provide hands-on experience across a variety of projects, including new home builds, renovations, extensions and insurance repair work.

The successful applicant will work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning all aspects of carpentry while gaining practical skills on-site. Work will be carried out across varied locations, so reliability, a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Role Description

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the building and construction industry.

Assist qualified carpenters and tradespeople with daily site tasks.

Learn and carry out basic carpentry duties under supervision.

Assist with framing, fix-outs, cladding, renovations, repairs and general residential building work.

Help prepare, clean and maintain work areas, tools and materials.

Follow instructions from supervisors, tradespeople and site managers.

Work safely and follow all workplace health and safety requirements.

Support the team with loading, unloading and organising materials.

Attend TAFE and complete apprenticeship training requirements.

Develop practical skills and knowledge in residential construction.

The successful applicant will be someone who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team. You will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine interest in building a career in carpentry.

You will be reliable, respectful and willing to take direction, with the ability to work across different residential job sites.

Required Skills

-A Willingness to develop skills and knowledge in this trade.

-Be responsible, reliable and have a can do attitude.

-The ability to work in a fast paced team with other Carpenters, Labourers and Apprentices.

-Physical Fitness and the ability to undertake manual labour for extended periods.

-Be able to adhere to Workplace Health and Safety procedures and adhere to Safe Work Practices.

-A White Card – or be willing to obtain prior to commencement.

-Enjoy practical and manual work.

-Be able to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

-Have a current drivers license and own suitable vehicle or be willing to obtain prior to commencement.

-Be willing to obtain the required tools over the course of your apprenticeship – tool list and requirements will be discussed prior to commencement.

Preferred Skills

Previous experience or exposure to building, construction, carpentry or hands-on trade work is highly regarded.

Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
