The Opportunity
The Lead Business Analyst brings deep subject matter expertise in Wealth Management, Wrap Platforms, Investments, and Superannuation and is responsible for consulting with business and technology leaders to create strategy and associated delivery roadmaps. You will have a comprehensive understanding of Business Analysis practices, own and drive the analysis process for the North Platform and establish a business analysis community focused on continuous improvement.
Critical Requirement: Candidates must have significant experience working within Wealth Management and Wrap Platform environments, with a strong understanding of adviser platforms, investment products, superannuation, and wealth administration ecosystems.
Description of Division and Business Unit
The North Platforms Technology team sits within the Technology division at AMP.
The team provides full lifecycle management of the North Platform, one of Australia's leading Wrap Platforms in the Wealth Management market. The capability within the team is highly diverse, with specialised skill sets and deep Wealth Management domain expertise. Roles within the team cover Strategic Planning, Business and Systems Analysis, Development, Architecture, Testing, and Production Support.
We work closely with our business partners across Client Services, Digital and Adviser Experience, Product, Distribution, Marketing, and Finance, recognising the critical role technology plays in delivering successful business outcomes.
About the Role
- Partner with business and technology leaders to define strategic initiatives and deliver solutions that support Wealth Management and Wrap Platform objectives.
- Lead and direct business analysis activities across complex initiatives, including mentoring and coordinating Business Analysts within delivery squads.
- Act as the custodian of the Business Analysis practice, processes, and tools, driving consistency and best-practice standards across the North Platform delivery teams.
- Govern and oversee analysis deliverables, ensuring quality, consistency, traceability, and alignment with delivery standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across analysis practices and provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to analysts.
- Lead risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting activities arising from analysis work.
- Champion Agile delivery practices and facilitate key ceremonies, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery outcomes.
- Work closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Architects, Product Owners, and Technical Leads to support planning, estimation, tracking, and reporting.
- Lead requirements discovery and solution design activities for new strategic initiatives across Wealth Management and Wrap Platform capabilities.
- Provide subject matter expertise on Wealth Management products, investment administration, adviser platforms, and superannuation-related initiatives.
- Actively contribute to delivery activities while coordinating analysis efforts across multiple streams of work.
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and capability uplift of Business Analysts.
- As Lead Business Analyst reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for defining innovative solutions, leading a team of Business Analysts, and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes across AMP's Wealth Management platform ecosystem.
About You
Essential Requirements
- 8+ years' experience in Business Analysis within Wealth Management, Investment Platforms, Wrap Platforms, Superannuation, or Financial Services technology environments.
- Demonstrated experience working on Wrap Platforms is mandatory.
- Deep Wealth Management domain experience is essential, including knowledge of adviser services, investment products, portfolio administration, superannuation, and platform operations.
- Proven experience leading business analysis activities across large-scale technology programs and transformation initiatives.
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst leading teams within Agile delivery environments.
- Demonstrated experience consulting with senior business and technology stakeholders to develop strategic roadmaps and business solutions.
- Strong understanding of Wealth Management operating models, platform administration, investment management processes, and regulatory considerations.
- Experience across the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated experience working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience.
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with the North Platform.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Wealth Management and Superannuation industry regulations.
- Experience delivering digital transformation and customer/adviser experience initiatives.

- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, SQL-based tools, and requirements management frameworks.
