In this role, you'll:
Join a team responsible for delivering, supporting and evolving Transport's next-generation analytics platform built on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Services.
You will be responsible for enabling business and project teams to successfully onboard, build and operate modern data and analytics solutions while ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, governed and operationally efficient.
You will:
Act as a technical SME for Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and enterprise analytics platforms, providing guidance and advisory services to project teams and stakeholders.
Assisting platform onboarding activities, helping teams design and implement solutions aligned with platform standards, architectural principles and governance requirements.
Develop and maintain reference architectures, best practices, design patterns, frameworks and operational standards for Fabric and Databricks platforms.
Provide technical assistance on data engineering, data integration, analytics, reporting and AI/ML platform capabilities.
Support and manage data and analytics platform services, ensuring reliability, performance, security and operational excellence.
Collaborate with solution architects, engineers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable platform solutions.
Drive platform governance activities, including access management, security reviews, workspace governance, Unity Catalog standards, monitoring and compliance controls.
Assist platform optimisation initiatives, improving performance, reliability, cost management and operational efficiency across Fabric and Databricks environments.
Support incident, problem and service management processes, ensuring timely resolution of platform issues.
Evaluate emerging analytics, AI and cloud technologies and provide recommendations to enhance platform capabilities and business outcomes.
Mentor engineers and platform users, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing and modern engineering approaches.

About you
You are passionate about modern cloud analytics platforms and enjoy helping organisations unlock the value of their data through scalable and governed solutions.
You have strong experience across Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and Azure analytics technologies and are comfortable working across architecture, governance, operations and stakeholder engagement.
You are recognised as a trusted technical advisor who can balance business needs, platform sustainability and enterprise governance requirements.
You will bring:
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and Azure data platform technologies.
Strong understanding of data engineering, analytics and reporting solutions.
Experience with Lakehouse architectures, medallion patterns, data integration and modern analytics platforms.
Experience implementing governance, security and operational controls across cloud data platforms.
Knowledge of Databricks Unity Catalog, workspace governance and access management practices.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale analytics environments and collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience creating standards, frameworks, best practices and reusable patterns.
Experience in providing technical support
