Role Description:
We have an exciting multiple opportunities for a Test and Commissioning Technicians within our Surface Ships team based at Osborne, SA. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, commissioning & maintenance of systems and/or equipment in accordance with the contractual and Company requirements in order to achieve the required business performance.
Core Duties:
- Undertake set to work, test, integration and commission equipment and system
- Provide oversite and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge for Test & Commissioning and input to planning and maintenance schedules
- Develop/prepare accurate technical documentation including test procedures and reports and be responsible to analyse defect, resolution and provision of detailed technical report
- Provide guidance and advise other team members on the quality of the work and support to develop and mentor other technicians
- Act as a project focal point for discipline specific tasks and championing continuous improvements
- Provide input into the design, development and implementation of systems and equipment and actual conduct of installing, set to work, acceptance testing and maintaining the system and equipment against technical requirements
About You
- Qualified Technician, unrestricted Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- Hold, or be eligible to apply/receive, licences or qualifications relevant to the State requirements for the role, e.g post trade experience in the required domain
- Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation would be advantageous
- Demonstrated adaptability to changing task requirement and priorities with an ability to identify underlying issues with troubleshooting mindset
- An ability to work under minimal supervision, managing time to address competing task priorities, ensuring completion in accordance with assigned budget, schedule, and priority
- intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Hobart Class Air Warfare Destroyers (AWDs)
BAE Systems Australia's maritime workforce built and lead the sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy's three Hobart class air warfare destroyers - HMAS Hobart, HMAS Brisbane, and HMAS Sydney. The Hobart Class AED's carry a helicopter for surveillance, conduct surface and undersea warfare and carry naval gunfire capabilities. As Managing Contractor - Destroyer Enterprise, we led the transition into service for each ship.
