Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Full-Time Accountant to join our team in Toorak. In this role, you will manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide key financial insights to support business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to take ownership of financial functions in a dynamic business structure.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and analyze accurate monthly management accounts and financial statements.
Manage balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and end-of-month processes.
Oversee tax compliance, including the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
Assist with annual tax planning, trust distributions, and corporate compliance tasks.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Monitor cash flow, prepare financial forecasts, and conduct budget variance analysis.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions as required.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CA or CPA qualified, or currently tracking towards qualification.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role within Australia.
Expert proficiency across multiple cloud accounting systems, with a mandatory requirement to be fully capable in MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero.
Advanced MS Excel skills are essential.
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, GST laws, and trust taxation concepts.
Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
