About the role
We build and operate production software for regulated Australian industries, with a particular focus on healthcare, aged care and data-heavy operational platforms. Our work includes clinical data platforms, automation of healthcare workflows, mobile applications, analytics and integrations across complex production environments.
We are seeking a senior full-stack developer who can own systems end to end: data model, API, web application, mobile application, identity, cloud infrastructure, deployment, monitoring and production support. This role requires more than general software engineering capability. A substantial part of the work sits inside Australian primary care and residential aged care, where Medicare logic, clinical workflow, identity, consent, privacy and operational edge cases directly affect system design.
The successful candidate must also be comfortable integrating AI into live healthcare workflows. This includes secure propagation of patient and encounter context, federated identity, session lifecycle, fallback behaviour, auditability and appropriate handling of personal and sensitive health information. Experience with generic LLM APIs alone is not sufficient.
Key responsibilities
- Own features end to end across a .NET Core / .NET 9 API, Angular SPA, PostgreSQL or SQL Server data layer, and cross-platform mobile applications.
- Design and integrate AI services into live healthcare workflows, including clinical transcription, structured data extraction, agentic workflow automation and context-aware hand-off between healthcare applications and external AI platforms.
- Implement secure AI integration patterns including OIDC/OAuth-based identity federation, SSO, patient or episode creation, session lifecycle management, user-context mapping, token handling, graceful degradation and audit logging.
- Build Australian healthcare workflows involving Medicare, DVA, MBS-related billing logic, patient eligibility, practitioner identity, digital consent, Assignment of Benefit and auditable financial or clinical-adjacent actions.
- Model residential aged-care workflows spanning nurses, visiting GPs, facilities and administrators, including care-request creation, assignment, acceptance, ETA, arrival, completion, cancellation, reassignment and continuity-of-care states.
- Build and maintain real-time mobile and web workflows using SignalR, WebSockets or equivalent technologies, including push notifications, geolocation and geofencing where required.
- Build and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Ionic + Capacitor and take releases through TestFlight, App Store and Google Play.
- Own cloud infrastructure and CI/CD in AWS and GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, including environment-scoped secrets, monitoring, alerting, container deployment, rollback and incident response.
- Integrate third-party, clinical and government-adjacent APIs where correctness matters, including identity verification, entitlement checks, healthcare platforms, payment and billing systems.
- Harden production systems using secure device storage, CSP and security headers, role-based authorisation, token rotation, least-privilege access, audit trails and post-pentest remediation.
About you
- 5+ years of commercial full-stack software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on experience in Angular (v10+), .NET Core / C# and relational database design.
- Demonstrated production experience building software used within Australian healthcare, not solely health-adjacent consumer applications.
- Practical knowledge of Medicare, DVA and MBS-related workflows, including patient eligibility, practitioner billing concepts, identifiers, consent and exception handling.
- Demonstrated understanding of residential aged-care and primary-care workflows, including nurse-initiated care requests, visiting GP workflows, clinical handover, continuity of care and facility-based operations.
- Production experience implementing digital consent or Assignment of Benefit workflows, healthcare billing logic or other auditable, high-assurance healthcare transactions.
- Demonstrated production experience integrating an external AI, clinical AI or LLM-enabled platform into an existing healthcare application, including authentication, patient or encounter context, session lifecycle, failure states and auditability.
- Experience designing AI workflows involving personal or sensitive health information, including data minimisation, role-based access, separation of operational and clinical data, secure transmission and appropriate logging boundaries.
- Production experience with Auth0 or an equivalent OIDC/OAuth identity platform, including SSO or federated identity, JWT and refresh-token management, role-based permissions and multiple healthcare user types.
- Experience integrating external clinical or healthcare platforms through secure APIs, including authentication, token lifecycle, webhook or event handling, failure recovery and production observability.
- Real-time systems experience using SignalR, WebSockets or equivalent, together with secure API design and state synchronisation across mobile and web clients.

Pay: $95,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
