About the Business
Scuderia Autoart and City Performance Centre (CPC) are specialist automotive businesses dedicated to performance, precision, and craftsmanship. Operating across both workshops, the group serves a passionate clientele ranging from daily performance drivers to high-value classic and track-focused builds. Both businesses are undergoing a significant digital transformation to modernise operations, unify systems, and elevate the client experience. This role sits across both entities and plays a direct part in engineering and delivering that program.
Role Purpose
The DevOps Engineer will design, build, and maintain the automated pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and application integrations that underpin a digital transformation program spanning both Scuderia Autoart and City Performance Centre. Working across a unified workshop management platform, cloud and on-premises hosting environments, identity and access management, CRM implementation, telephony modernisation, and data pipeline automation, the role is responsible for engineering and operating the technical foundations that keep both businesses running. The incumbent will facilitate communication, collaboration, and automation across different technical domains — ensuring software and application deployments are reliable, environments are consistent, and systems are continuously improved and delivered at pace.
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Engineering & Application Deployment
● Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for in-house applications, implementing infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure consistent, reliable deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
● Manage testing and automation of software and application deployments, developing test strategies and deployment gates that ensure quality and integrity at each release stage.
● Implement and maintain container orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent tooling, standardising application environments and eliminating deployment inconsistencies.
● Lead an audit and consolidation of the organisation's GitHub repositories, establishing standards for branching strategies, code review workflows, and repository governance.
● Develop continuous improvement and continuous delivery strategies across application design and deployment, identifying bottlenecks and automating manual steps throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Cloud & On-Premises Infrastructure
● Design and deploy application hosting environments on Oracle Cloud VM and on-premises infrastructure, implementing security controls, network segmentation, and configuration standards to protect in-house applications and prevent data leakage.
● Engineer and maintain Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions including SSO configuration, user provisioning automation, and access governance across both business units.
● Build and maintain secrets and configuration management infrastructure, including centralised storage and rotation of API keys, database credentials, and certificates.
● Deploy and configure a remote-accessible NAS for centralised asset storage, including Tailscale gateway, user/group permissions, versioning, and automated backup pipelines.
● Collect and analyse operational metrics across hosted environments; implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to maintain system performance and availability.
Platform & Application Integration
● Support the implementation and configuration of the unified workshop management platform, integrating finance, HR, payments, and automotive retail modules and ensuring reliable data flow across connected systems.
● Engineer and execute the data migration from legacy systems onto the new platform, including validation pipelines, data integrity checks, and rollback procedures.
● Contribute to the Salesforce CRM implementation, building and testing integrations that establish it as the system of record for all customer information across both businesses.
● Conduct a full-stack assessment of the CommerceBuild platform and engineer the managed transition to CommerceBuild V2, including the CPC website rebuild and associated integrations.
Telephony & AI Integration
● Design and implement a modernised telephony stack including structured call flows, routing logic, and integration points with core business platforms.
● Engineer the integration of AI-based telephony services — including AI receptionist and speech to-text transcription — into the telephony and application stack.
● Identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing telephony systems and propose and implement remediation strategies.
Data Pipelines & Automation
● Build the centralised product and pricing data pipeline, consolidating CPC product and pricing data into a single authoritative database kept current via API-driven price feeds.
● Develop AI-assisted workflow automation tooling for CPC operations including job histories, parts review, and invoice completion — creating and maintaining the tools required to support these applications and their security.
● Write, update, and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and end-user guides for all deployed systems and pipelines.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
● Demonstrated experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automating software deployment processes.
● Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or similar), including computing, networking, storage, and IAM.
● Proficiency with version control (Git/GitHub) and experience establishing or maintaining branching and release workflows.
● Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
● Scripting and automation capability in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent.
Desirable
● Experience with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce, including integration and data migration work.
● Exposure to ERP or integrated business management platforms.
● Understanding of SSO and federated identity protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC).
● Experience with data pipeline design, ETL processes, or API-driven data integration.
● Familiarity with AI/ML tooling or AI-based service integrations. ● Experience in an automotive, motorsport, or retail environment is advantageous but not required.
Key Attributes
● Engineering mindset: takes ownership of solutions end-to-end, from design through to deployment and ongoing operation.
● Automation-first: default instinct is to automate repetitive or error-prone processes rather than accept manual workarounds.
● Collaborative: works effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders; communicates clearly about trade-offs and technical constraints.
● Detail-oriented: rigorous about documentation, deployment standards, and system integrity.
● Adaptable: comfortable managing multiple workstreams and shifting priorities in a fast-moving transformation environment.
What We Offer
● Hands-on engineering exposure across a broad digital transformation program spanning two specialist automotive businesses.
● Direct involvement in building the cloud, application, and automation foundations that will run both businesses for years to come.
● A visible, impactful role where your work is immediately evident in how both businesses operate day-to-day.
● A close-knit team environment in the performance automotive and motorsport sector.
