The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a passionate tyre professional to join our High Wycombe team in their own purpose built fully equipped tyre bay
This is a newly created role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to how we maintain our national fleet of heavy vehicles that service Australia, keeping them safe, compliant and road ready.
With access to quality tools, tyre changing equipment and lifting aids, you’ll become the dedicated tyre specialist for our commercial heavy vehicles. Working a consistent Monday to Friday day shift, you’ll manage your own workload with independence and trust.
You will:
Be responsible for fitting, repairing and replacing tyres on heavy vehicles, prime movers, trailers and heavy haulage equipment.
Perform wheel balancing and scheduled tyre rotations.
Developing and managing preventative tyre maintenance schedules
Inspecting tyres and identifying wear patterns or defects.
Monitoring tyre performance and recommending replacements
Maintain accurate and timely records of completed work and relevant documentation
Liaise with leading hand regarding any situations likely to affect the daily schedule and suggest appropriate action if required
Engage with team members, managers and customers to achieve team goals and support requirements
Prioritising work to minimise fleet downtime
Following all SOPs and workplace health and safety procedures
Report all hazards, incidents and near misses and engage in the strong safety culture on site
What you’ll bring:
Experience and confidence to work independently in your own tyre bay, coupled with a responsible attitude towards prioritising work and achieving deadlines.
You will have:
Certificate III or IV in tyre fitting or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 3 years tyre fitting experience
Fitness to perform the wheel mounting and dismounting with the use of lifting machines
Experience using all pneumatic tools required for the job
High level of safety awareness and ability to follow SOPs accurately
A friendly nature and ability to fit into the existing supportive site culture
Trustworthy attitude and able to manager yourself to achieve the roles requirements
Strong communication skills and able to interact with all team members
Valid driver’s license
