POSITION
Full time position is available for a Welder at Hitec Welding in Pinkenba, QLD, 4008.
SKILL
At least an AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or a Certificate IV. In addition to the qualification at least one year of relevant work experience is required. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, welding and repairing structural steel, skid packages, pipework, tanks and pressure equipment components in accordance with engineering drawings, Australian Standards and industry specifications.
The role requires marking out, cutting, forming, fitting and welding of carbon steel, stainless steel materials using MMAW, TIG, MIG and FCAW processes in workshop and site environments.
DUTIES
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, isometrics, weld symbols and technical specifications
· Marking out, measuring, cutting and bevelling plate and steel sections using oxy, plasma and mechanical cutting equipment
· Fitting, aligning and tack welding components and assemblies to required tolerances
· Fabricating structural steel, pipe spools, skid frames, tanks and pressure equipment components
· Performing welding using TIG, MIG, Stick (MMAW) and FCAW processes on carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex materials
· Heating, shaping and forming metal using hand and machine tools, presses and rolling equipment
· Inspecting fabricated items and welds for quality and compliance with relevant Australian Standards
· Repairing defective welds and fabrications and carrying out rework where required
· Grinding, dressing and preparing completed work for NDT, hydrotesting and painting
· Complying with WHS regulations, JHAs, SWMS and maintaining safe work practices
· Working collaboratively with welders, fitters, QA/QC personnel and engineers

SALARY
$85,000 - $90,000 per annum based on experience.
Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
