Full Job Description

Aptella is looking a Survey Manager to join their team in 2026. The Survey Manager plays a critical leadership role, overseeing the delivery of surveying services across multiple projects while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement to support successful project outcomes and the ongoing growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage surveying operations across projects, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and compliant outputs
Provide technical guidance and oversight to survey teams in both field and office environments
Plan and allocate resources to meet project timelines, budgets, and client requirements
Review and approve survey methodologies, calculations, and deliverables
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company safety systems, and site requirements
Mentor, develop, and support the performance of survey staff
Act as a key point of contact for clients on surveying-related matters
Drive continuous improvement in survey processes, systems, and technology adoption

About You

You are an experienced surveying professional with a strong technical background and proven leadership capability. You thrive in a fast-paced, project-based environment and are confident managing people, priorities, and stakeholders.

You will bring:

An Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Surveying or a related discipline
Significant experience in land, construction, or engineering surveying
Demonstrated experience leading or supervising survey teams
Strong knowledge of surveying standards, methodologies, and relevant legislation
High proficiency with modern survey equipment and software
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong commitment to safety and quality
Results-driven with strong attention to detail
Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused
Confident leader with the ability to influence and mentor others
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Client-focused mindset

Exposure to large-scale civil or infrastructure projects and emerging survey technologies, will be highly regarded.
