The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Operations team on Barrow Island, Western Australia. This exciting FIFO opportunity offers a family-friendly even-time roster of 14 days on, 14 days off from Perth, providing an excellent work-life balance while supporting a critical operation in the resources sector.
Reporting to the Senior HSSE Manager, with local reporting to the Barrow Island Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in coordinating and managing all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) activities across the site. You will partner with operational leaders to ensure compliance, strengthen safety culture, and support the delivery of safe, efficient and incident-free operations.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and manage all HSSE activities across the Barrow Island operation.
- Develop, implement, review and maintain HSE policies, procedures and management systems.
- Provide practical HSSE advice and support to leaders and frontline teams.
- Maintain risk registers and facilitate risk assessment processes.
- Conduct HSSE inspections, audits, workplace observations and compliance monitoring activities (including third party audits).
- Lead and coordinate HSSE meetings, toolbox talks and workforce engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Toll HSSE standards, legislative requirements and Chevron quarantine and safety protocols.
- Report, investigate and close out incidents, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
- Analyse incident trends and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and deliver HSE training and awareness programs that enhance the understanding and effectiveness of the management systems, risk management, safety leadership, hazard reduction and continuous improvement.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Champion a positive safety culture that promotes accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
- Prepare HSE reports and provide performance insights to operational leadership.
- Be prepared to undertake any other task that may be reasonably required from time to time for which you are capable of performing.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role within resources, oil and gas, logistics, industrial or related environments.
- Strong understanding of supply base operations including heavy lift, forklift, crane, warehousing and transport.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, compliance requirements and management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, audits and risk assessments.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Excellent communication, coaching and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience interpreting HSE trends and performance data.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Relevant qualifications in Health, Safety, Environment or a related discipline.
