For a major project in Adelaide, delivered in partnership with Hatch, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Advisor to support the successful mobilization, execution, and demobilization of the project workforce.
The Human Resources Advisor plays a critical role in supporting all project-related people activities, with a primary focus on workforce mobilization, staffing coordination, employee lifecycle management, mobility administration, employee relations, and HR operations. Acting as a trusted advisor to project leaders and employees, this role ensures the consistent application of HR policies, processes, and practices while supporting project execution objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership, managers, HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and functional teams to deliver effective workforce solutions and positive employee experience throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer workforce mobilization activities for Hatch and Fluor project personnel, ensuring the timely ramp-up of project teams.
- Maintain and track project staffing plans, workforce movements, onboarding status, and other key people metrics.
- Support project setup, staffing, mobilization, execution, demobilization, and project close-out activities.
- Coordinate and drive key people processes, including onboarding, transfers, employee changes, and workforce administration.
- Administer and communicate project-specific terms and conditions of employment.
- Facilitate project onboarding and induction activities in partnership with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) teams.
- Provide HR support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
- Assist managers in managing employee relations matters, including enquiries, complaints, grievances, performance concerns, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex or sensitive HR matters within the project environment.
- Support internal project communications and job bulletin activities in partnership with project administration teams.
- Administer mobility programs and provide advice to employees on relocation, assignment, and mobility processes.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure effective delivery of mobility services and employee support programs.
- Conduct audits and reviews of HR and mobility processes to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of HR tools, processes, procedures, and workforce solutions.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to ensure consistent application of HR practices and required approvals.
- Work closely with the Project Quality Manager to support HR-related audit and gate review activities.
- Conduct internal HR project audits in accordance with approved execution plans.
- Facilitate HR training and awareness sessions for project employees and leaders.
- Analyze workforce data and provide recommendations to support workforce planning and project objectives.
- Lead or support special projects and strategic initiatives designed to improve workforce effectiveness and project outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, employment legislation, and project requirements.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Education, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in Human Resources, preferably within engineering, construction, mining, energy, infrastructure, or project-based environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting workforce mobilization, onboarding, employee relations, and HR operations.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, employment practices, and employee lifecycle management.
- Experience working in fast-paced project environments with competing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification or equivalent HR accreditation.
Experience supporting workforce mobility, relocation, or assignment management programs.
Knowledge of project-based workforce planning and execution.
