Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, organised and hands-on Practice Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy general practice.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage reception, nursing and administrative staff.
Recruit, train and support team members.
Prepare and manage staff rosters.
Ensure accurate Medicare, DVA and private billing.
Oversee daily banking and financial reconciliations.
Monitor outstanding accounts and debt collection.
Ensure compliance with RACGP standards and accreditation requirements.
Develop and improve practice systems and workflows.
Manage stock, equipment and supplier relationships.
Liaise with doctors, allied health providers and external service providers.
Prepare reports and monitor practice performance.
Assist with budgeting and business planning.
Handle HR matters, including staff performance and disciplinary processes.
Provide hands-on support at reception when required.

Essential Skills and Experience

Previous experience as a Practice Manager or in a senior medical administration role.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Knowledge of Medicare, MBS, DVA and private billing.
Experience using MedicalDirector and Pracsoft (preferred).
Strong computer and financial management skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Professional, reliable and proactive approach.
