About the role:
Connect the Darebin community to their libraries in this creative and rewarding role. As part of the Library Engagement and Partnerships Team, the Digital Marketing Officer plays an important role in shaping how our community discovers and engages with library services, collections, events and programs.
Working across a range of digital platforms, you will develop engaging content and deliver integrated marketing and communication campaigns that support library priorities and strengthen community participation.
This role offers the opportunity to combine creativity, storytelling and digital communications expertise while contributing to meaningful outcomes for the Darebin community.
You will:
- Plan, develop and deliver communication and marketing campaigns that support the strategic priorities of Darebin Libraries.

Create engaging, accessible and audience-focused content across social media, websites, newsletters, emails and promotional materials.

Grow and strengthen community engagement through effective digital communications, audience insights and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with library teams, Council communications staff, community organisations and partners to deliver high-quality campaigns and promotions.

Evaluate campaign effectiveness and use data, insights and emerging trends to improve future marketing and communication activity.

Contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service through rostered frontline library service and shift leadership responsibilities.

Within your roster, you will be required to work a minimum of one Saturday and one Sunday in an eight-week cycle. Penalty rates apply to hours worked outside the span of ordinary hours.
About you:
You are a creative and collaborative communicator who understands how digital engagement can build community connection and participation. You will bring:
- Advanced skills and experience in the design, development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies and campaigns for a public library or community organisation.

A strong background in editorial copywriting and content creation for a variety of audiences and formats and a good understanding of online copywriting and how it impacts Search Engine Optimisation.

Solid understanding and experience in a range of applications including content management systems, electronic direct mail and online platforms.

Experience in monitoring and managing conversations, and managing and mitigating risk on social media channels.

Demonstrated ability to engage and grow audiences (paid and organically) on social media, set digital campaign targets, and use insights to measure and report to improve future campaigns.

Strong technical skills using HTML, Adobe Creative Cloud, Facebook Ad Manager, Hootsuite, Google Analytics and other similar products.

Excellent customer service skills developed in a library, art gallery, or museum environment.

Excellent knowledge of Darebin Libraries collections, services, events, resources, and spaces.

Bi-lingual skills an advantage.
