Full Job Description

A challenging and rewarding position is available right now for someone seeking to broaden their skills and advance their career in IT.

A fast growing Brisbane (Southside) software development company providing innovative IT solutions to the retail industry is seeking suitably experienced and qualified persons for full time employment.

You will join our highly skilled and motivated support and development team. Your investigative and problem solving skills will make a valuable contribution to the success of the company. You will be given the opportunity to rapidly advance through QA to the R&D or Network Administration teams should you demonstrate the willingness and capacity to do so.
If your are a budding programmer with tertiary qualifications but with limited or even no commercial experience and have created your own projects for business family and friends, we will be interested in you.

All applicants will be required to undertake a 2hour test prior to any interview.

The Role

Logging and resolving customer issues

Customer correspondence including documentation of user guides and other resources

Escalation and reproduction of technical issues for the development team

QA tasks and technical documentation

Administration of SQL databases

System monitoring

The successful applicants will possess the following;

Formal Qualifications

Degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences

Technical Skills and Experience

More than 2 years experience in a software support or development/QA role is advantageous.

Demonstrated basic programming skills with commercial experience is highly desirable

Demonstrated SQL and some PSQL programming skills is highly desirable

Demonstrated Database Stored Procedure Development skills (firebird PSQL, postgres PL/PGSQL, oracle PL/SQL or similar) is highly desirable

Demonstrated Data-interchange development (XML / Soap / JSON ) skills is desirable

Demonstrated Delphi Development (Pascal / or Fee Pascal development ) skills is desirable

Demonstrated Visual Studio Development ( VB / C# ...etc ) skills is desirable

Demonstrated Visual IOS Development ( Objective C / Xcode ) skills is desirable

Demonstrated Web Development ( java script / HTML / HTML5 / PHP ...etc ) skills is desirable

Good formal documentation skills is highly desirable

Demonstrated investigative and problem solving skills is highly desirable

Thorough understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office suite is highly desirable

Experience in Accounting Systems and retail POS systems would be highly desirable

Additional IT Skills of Value

Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Windows operating systems (Win98 2003 server)

Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Internet communication peripherals (modems, routers)

Understanding of TCP/IP networks and security systems

Understanding of LAN and WAN communication and configurations.

General Skills

Good communication skills

Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure

Ability to quickly grasp and understand new tasks and ideas

A starting salary package from up to $65K (incl Industry Super) reflective of qualifications, skills, experience and suitability will be offered to the successful candidate, and up to $70K if you substantially exceed our requirements.
