Details: ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to fill the position of Complex Care Practice Lead (HP4), Supports and Interventions (SIU), within Offender Reintegration. This is a temporary vacancy commencing immediately for up to 3 months. The position is based at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) in Hume.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of both organisational and individual support related to increasing the capacity of individuals with complex needs within the AMC, in addition to managing a multidisciplinary team, in the facilitation of programs, interventions and services with detainees across the AMC.

You will also provide advice related to the care and service provision for detainee mental health matters and complete and coordinate referrals and assessments, to ensure the needs of clients are supported in line with best practice guidelines.

Further to this, you will identify and implement actions to address systemic barriers to service delivery access for detainees with complex needs in the custodial setting, including leading care coordination meetings, contribute to higher level and strategic planning forums, and take initiative to drive systemic change in the disability and complex care space for ACTCS and the AMC.

To be successful, you will possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills necessary to build rapport with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, in addition to demonstrating strong leadership and management qualities. A clinical post-graduate qualification and experience in working within a multidisciplinary team is highly desirable, as you will be responsible for the leadership of the team.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Mandatory

Occupational Therapists:

Registered or eligible for general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under AHPRA
Registration or eligibility for registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
Minimum of 5 years experience post qualification

Nursing:

Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia under APHRA.
Approved tertiary qualifications or equivalent in nursing.
Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum of 5 years experience post qualification within an acute or rehabilitation adult setting

Psychologists:

Be registered or be eligible for general registration with Psychology Board of Australia
Minimum of 5 years experience post qualification

Social Workers:

Degree in Social Work
Professional membership or eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Minimum of 5 years experience post qualification
This position does require a Police Record Check.
Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra (act.gov.au)
To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
