Customer & Communications Support Officer - Position No. 1047

Temporary part-time, 0.4 EFT

Band 5 $77,357.80 to $88,159.24 yearly (pro-rata 30.4hrs per fortnight), plus 12% statutory superannuation

We’re looking for someone to join the Customer and Communications team to support a range of communications, engagement and customer service activities.

This is a great opportunity to build your experience across several areas, contribute to meaningful work and help deliver clear information and a positive experience for our community.

What you’ll be doing

This role will work closely with the Customer and Communications team to:

Assist with preparing content for Council’s website, newsletters, social media and internal communications

Support community engagement activities and promotional campaigns

Help maintain website content, digital platforms and communication records

Assist with customer enquiries and provide accurate information about Council services

Provide customer service coverage during leave, peak demand and other operational needs

Support the delivery of team priorities and service improvements.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who:

Communicates clearly and can prepare accurate content for different audiences

Is confident using Microsoft Office, website content management systems and social media platforms

Has experience in communications, digital media, customer service or community engagement

Is organised, reliable and able to manage changing priorities

Has strong attention to detail and handles information with care

Enjoys working with others and is willing to learn

Has basic graphic design or content creation skills using Canva, Adobe or similar programs, or is keen to develop them.

Customer service experience and an understanding of local government would be an advantage but are not essential.
