Full Job Description

We are looking for a Head Chef to take ownership of a breakfast kitchen and help build something exciting.

We’re a busy cafe known for our coffees and drinks. We’re now looking for the right chef to lead a major kitchen transformation and update breakfast and brunch menu to something that stands out in the area.

This role is ideal for a breakfast chef who is creative, highly organised, fast under pressure and understands both the culinary and business side of running a successful cafe kitchen.

We are not looking for someone to simply run the current menu — we’re looking for someone who can help build a successful food program from the ground up.

What we’re looking for:

Strong experience as a Head Chef or senior chef in a fast-paced cafe environment
5+ years of experience
Ability to create exciting, profitable and efficient menu items
Someone who understands current cafe trends and local market expectations
Leadership and team management skills
Ability to manage ordering, prep systems, food costs and workflow
Someone looking for a long-term opportunity and growth

Responsibilities include:

Designing and developing a new breakfast/brunch menu
Running daily kitchen operations
Managing kitchen staff
Ordering and stock control
Food costing and maintaining profitability
Creating specials and seasonal ideas
Maintaining consistency, speed and kitchen standards
Training and leading the team
