Job Purpose

The Territory Manager – Automotive is responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets across the designated territory for Valvoline lubricants and associated Car Care products. The role will focus on managing and growing existing key accounts while actively identifying, prospecting and securing new business opportunities to drive sustainable sales growth.

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Achieve monthly sales targets in all categories
Develop and implement strategic plans for the acquisition of new business
Territory analysis of accounts for gross profit, client usage, follow ups with amortized accounts
Monitor and maintain existing customers and increase Valvoline’s product range of business
Liaise with supply chain on product forecasting and trends with view to seamless product supply to designated market segments
Enhance brand awareness via executing national and local promotional activities
Review, analyse and discuss monthly reports. Self-training and administrative tasks
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as Business or Marketing, would be highly regarded
4+ years of relevant industry sector experience
Experience within the industrial or automotive industry is desirable

Competencies Desired

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business and commercial acumen
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to work with flexibility and a strong sense of urgency
Strong analytical skills, organisational agility and critical thinking
DDI Competencies: Customer Focus, Results Oriented and strong negotiation skills
Embodies the three virtues of an ideal team player: hungry, humble and smart
Current Driver’s Licence

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Travel Requirements

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: General Office Setting and Driving in Motor Vehicle
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel required, with customer meetings expected most days of the week, including up to 10% overnight travel per month
