Are you a passionate and experienced Cook who enjoys preparing quality food and working in a fast-paced restaurant environment?

Jannat Al Mandi is seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team in Melbourne’s west. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, maintaining consistency and presentation standards, and supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for Indo-Arab cuisine and delivering excellent dining experiences.

About Us

Jannat Al Mandi is an Indo-Arab Halal restaurant specialising in Mandi, based in Melbourne’s west. We are passionate about serving authentic flavours using quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.

Along with our signature Mandi dishes, we also serve Sydney’s popular Genuine Broaster Chicken, offering our customers a diverse range of delicious Halal meals.

We offer both dine-in and takeaway options and are committed to providing quality food, consistent service and a welcoming experience for our customers.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Cook to join our team and contribute to our commitment to quality food and exceptional hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook Indo-Arab dishes, including Mandi and other menu items, according to established recipes and standards.
Prepare, portion, season and organise ingredients for daily service.
Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion sizes.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen while following food safety and hygiene requirements.
Monitor stock levels, minimise food wastage and assist with storing deliveries.
Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
Assist with general kitchen operations and support junior staff where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Minimum one year of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
Experience with Indo-Arab, Middle Eastern or similar cuisine is highly regarded.
Good knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
