We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Data & Information Architect to join our consulting team and lead a strategic Information Management and AI Readiness engagement for the Australian arm of a global manufacturing business.
This is an opportunity to shape how a large enterprise manages, governs and unlocks value from its information assets. Working alongside senior client stakeholders, you will define a scalable information architecture, establish governance and operating models, deliver a representative SharePoint Online pilot, and help create the trusted information foundations required to enable future AI, Copilot and modern analytics initiatives.
While your initial engagement will focus on delivering an enterprise Information Management and AI Readiness programme for a global manufacturing business, you'll also become part of Novon's broader Data Architecture consulting community, contributing to architecture standards, knowledge sharing, pre-sales initiatives and future enterprise data platform engagements across Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Databricks and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
Information Architecture & Strategy
- Lead the assessment of the client's current information and document management landscape.
- Design a scalable enterprise Information Architecture using SharePoint Online, including sites, libraries, taxonomy and metadata.
- Define information classification, content organisation and lifecycle management approaches aligned to business needs.
Governance & Operating Model
- Design governance, ownership, security and permissions models to support sustainable information management.
- Develop future operating models, governance frameworks and transition plans that enable long-term business ownership.
- Help establish an AI-ready information foundation that supports Microsoft Copilot, automation and knowledge discovery initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders to understand current-state challenges and define future-state requirements.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and confidently communicate architecture decisions, recommendations and roadmaps.
- Translate complex business requirements into practical information management solutions.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Lead the design and validation of a representative SharePoint Online pilot.
- Produce high-quality architecture artefacts, documentation and implementation roadmaps that can be adopted across multiple business units.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Data Architects and technical delivery teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
Contributing to Novon's Data Architecture Practice
- Contribute to Novon's Data Architecture community through architecture guilds, knowledge sharing and technical collaboration.
- Support pre-sales activities, solution design and client workshops across Data Architecture, Information Management and AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Data Engineering, AI and Business Consulting to help shape future client opportunities.
What We're Looking For
Core Skills & Experience
Information Architecture
- Extensive experience designing enterprise Information Architectures using SharePoint Online.
- Strong understanding of information taxonomy, metadata, content classification and document lifecycle management.
- Experience designing scalable information structures across multiple business domains.
Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Demonstrated experience leading workshops, facilitating requirements gathering and engaging executive stakeholders.
- Strong consulting, communication and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to balance business priorities with technical design considerations.
Governance & Security
- Experience designing governance frameworks, security models, permissions and information ownership structures.
- Knowledge of enterprise Information Management best practices.
Data Architecture
- Enterprise Data Architecture experience within complex organisations.
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and/or Snowflake.
- Ability to align Information Architecture with broader enterprise data strategy and AI readiness objectives.
Desired Skills
- Experience delivering enterprise Information Management or Content Management transformation programmes.
- SharePoint Online configuration and administration.
- Microsoft Purview.
- Microsoft 365 and Copilot readiness.
- Experience developing operating models, governance frameworks and AI readiness strategies.
- Experience contributing to architecture standards, reusable frameworks or consulting practices.
