ABOUT THE POSITION

TLEA is inviting applications for a Senior Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation to join our team at the Kwinana plant on a maximum term contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading E&I design activities across all project phases. This includes developing design scopes, conducting technical reviews, and approving engineering design documentation to ensure alignment with project intent and quality standards. The role will also and coordinate improvements to Technical Standards and support the performance of engineering service providers.
In addition to possessing our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this position will suit a background in Brownfields operations and environments.
What we are really seeking is a proven Engineer with a strong Instrumentation background, who has ideally worked for a design institute or consultancy with the following experience:
Review/input to PIDs
Developing instrument list
Developing instrument datasheets
Developing PCS I/O list
Developing instrument MTO
Developing instrument cable schedule
Selection of correct instruments according to the process/project requirements
Selection of the correct modulation valves/actuated valves according to the process/project requirement
Calculation skills for instruments
Developing functional specification according to process/project requirement
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies a strong understanding of Electrical & Instrumentation engineering terminology, theory, core processes and discipline specific activities.
Performs engineering tasks, validates construction methodologies, and provides guidance on engineering decisions for ensure alignment with project, construction, and commissioning engineering standards
Ensure Electrical & Instrumentation system designs appropriately consider all interfaces with other disciplines including mechanical, process and civil.
Reviews and signs off on all relevant engineering design documentation as the single point of accountability, engaging other disciplines as required during design reviews.
Applies specialised discipline expertise and provides leadership to meet TLEA's engineering and quality expectations.
Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
Extensive experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering role with relevant industry experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher, Engineering.
Proven experience in project management from design through to commissioning.
Experience in refining plant operations
Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
Effective communications and leadership capabilities with the ability to convey technical knowledge clearly and concisely.
Demonstrated focus on following and upholding established processes.
Advanced Microsoft Office programs skills

TLEA proudly acknowledges and the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation, as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant.
Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
