Full time, continuing role located on Camperdown Campus on Gadigal Country
Utilise your expertise as Deputy Director, Advancement Events
Base Salary $162,528 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

It is an exciting time to join the Alumni and Supporter Experience team that provides an innovative engagement program for a community of close to 500,000 people.

To support our ambitions for enhanced alumni and donor engagement, we are investing in our capacity and now seek a Deputy Director, Advancement Events who will provide strategic leadership for the design, delivery and continuous optimisation of a comprehensive, insight-led events portfolio that advances the University’s engagement, reputation and philanthropic objectives.

The role directs the creation of meaningful and impactful events that ignite alumni pride, build strong community relations, garner press and brand awareness, and serve as a motivational driver for alumni and donors to reconnect with the University of Sydney.

We now have a fantastic opportu nity for a self-motivated and passionate Deputy Director ( Advancement Events ) to lead the portfolio’s talented events team to deliver valuable and money-can’t-buy experiences for our alumni and donors .

The role is responsible for devising a strategic suite of events that caters to our highly diverse audience of alumni and donors , and aligns with the Univ ersity’s 2032 Strategy and For good campaign .

We are looking for a highly creative, strategic and innovative events leader who can take our already successful events to the next level .

About you

has p roven experience in leading the delivery of a broad range of events and detailed knowledge of event management and strategy including formal event protocols and management of dignitaries and high profile individuals
is a confident stakeholder manager with a passion for building and maintaining relationships
is highly creative and innovative in how they devise and deliver events
h as a dvanced verbal and written skills with a keen attention to detail
has p revious project management and administration experience
has a natural ability to think critically and resolve complex issues
has h igh-level organisational and time management skills, including ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure
has the a bility to adapt to a fast paced and changing event environment
experience leading, directing and mentoring a team of professionals to achieve high standards of client service delivery and teamwork.
