Junior Retail Assistant

Overflow Atherton

Casual / Part-Time — 12 to 20 hours per week

Looking for a career in retail? This is a hands-on role for a younger person with real hours, real training and a clear path forward.

Prices Plus/Overflow is a family-owned Australian variety retailer with stores across Queensland and northern New South Wales. Our team is built around five values: People, Customers, Accountability, Community and Relationships.

What You Will Be Doing

Welcoming customers and giving friendly, helpful service
Operating the register and processing sales, refunds and exchanges on our POS system
Receiving stock, replenishing shelves and keeping product presentation neat
Setting up promotions and ticketing as directed
Keeping the store clean, tidy and well presented
Following work health and safety procedures and reporting hazards

What We Are Looking For

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn — no retail experience required
Reliability: turning up on time for every rostered shift
Confidence talking to customers and working as part of a team
Broad availability across the week, including weekends
Ability to be on your feet for a full shift and to lift and move stock safely

Hours and Availability

Varying shifts, including some weekends and public holidays
Shift times vary according to the store's trading requirements
Availability across a range of days and times is essential

Pay and Benefits

Award rates apply under the General Retail Industry Award.

Penalty rates for weekends and public holidays, plus casual loading where applicable

Where It Can Lead

This is the role our store leaders come from. As you build experience you can be trained in cash handling, stock control and opening and closing procedures, and step towards Shift Supervisor and beyond.
