About the Role
Join CCIWA’s Employee Relations Helpline (ERH), the engine room of our HR & Workplace Relations Consultancy. Our team delivers practical, high-quality advice across a wide range of HR/ER/IR matters.
The ERH team is currently recruiting for a
Senior Employee Relations Adviser to join the team.
This primarily phone-based advisory role is ideal for a seasoned employee relations professional, employment lawyer or human resources professional with proven industry experience, ready to take the next step in their career into a senior position.
This is a full-time or part-time,
permanent position that will be based in the Perth CBD office, however, flexible work options including (but not limited to) job share and part-time arrangements, will be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide accurate, practical and tailored workplace relations advice to members via a phone-based advisory service
- Manage complex employment relations enquiries, including interpretation of legislation, awards, agreements and case law
- Stay current with changes to workplace laws, industrial instruments and emerging employee relations issues
- Support the development and coordination of technical knowledge, resources and guidance for the Employee Relations Helpline team
- Coach, mentor and provide technical support to team members
- Research complex workplace relations matters and contribute expert advice on challenging cases
- Design, update and enhance workplace relations products, resources and services for members
- Promote CCIWA membership offerings and relevant products and services to members
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, strategic projects and the ongoing success of the team
You will also be given the platform to:
- Attend CCIWA’s IR Masterclass and other relevant workplace training courses
- Support Consulting Matters: Assist on high-level projects and specialised HR/ER/IR consultancy.
- Deliver Workplace Training: Facilitate sessions that empower WA employers.
- Present at Events: Build your professional profile by presenting at industry functions and webinars.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are analytical, technically minded and have a passion for delivering a quality workplace relations service to members and clients.
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
- A strong technical understanding of the Fair Work System and the National Employment Standards (NES)
- Demonstrated experience (2+ years) in applying and interpreting Modern Awards and enterprise agreements (essential)
- A Bachelor/Tertiary degree in a relevant field, e.g. HR, ER or Law, or equivalent experience
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to present and train in front of an audience
- Ability to apply exceptional customer service skills
- A "growth mindset" with a desire to specialise in a specific industry or technical field
