The Role
The Team Leader – Senior Safety Advisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of Safety Advisors who provide expert advice, guidance and practical solutions to support managers and supervisors in creating safe, healthy, physical and psychologically safe workplaces.
Main accountabilities:

Initiate, facilitate and evaluate operational improvement projects to enable the proactive management of safety and wellbeing across the region.

An ability to address complex issues confidently with stakeholders. Influence and expertly analyse information to highlight and address issues and create shared solutions which advance the stakeholders business consistent with organisational priorities and an assessment of risk.

Lead the Safety Advisors by providing effective safety leadership , implement unsatisfactory performance procedures and strategies to improve performance to meet organisational expectations.

Support the safety advisors to ensure that all the corrective actions, programs, operational risk assessments, workplace inspections and audits are all undertaken within a timely manner.
The Team
The position of Team Leader Senior Safety Advisor forms a part of the People and Culture branch within the Corporate Services group.
Workplace Relations and Safety (WRS) is a multi-disciplinary team within the People and Culture Branch. It is a strategic and tactical operational function, supporting the achievement of the department's objectives by providing excellent service and trusted advice.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Demonstrated ability in managing a team of Safety Advisors (or equivalent) remotely across Victoria.

Demonstrated ability in meeting reporting deadlines and producing a complex range of technical reports with evidence-based recommendations on relevant issues to provide a sound basis for decision making.

Demonstrated ability to consistently deal with stakeholder issues, including monitoring stakeholder satisfaction and identifying opportunities to add value to business groups.
