Fulltime Kitchen Hand position available

8:6 | 7:7 Roster | DS / NS required

If you’ve worked in a camp or high-volume kitchen environment and understand the importance of providing people with great-tasting food, ensuring safety, teamwork, and like working in small teams, we’d love to hear from you.

Scope of work:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated kitchen hand to join our team on a permanent, full-time Fly-in-Fly-out basis. You will be a qualified chef or hold a cert III in commercial cookery as there will be occasions when you will be required to run the service, along with:

Maintaining quality and hygiene to food safe standards.
Following systems set in place to maintain continuous improvement of the restaurant.
Using cleaning products in a safe manner as outlined in the SDS - maintaining kitchen hygiene.
Ensuring stock is restocked, labelled, rotated, and used to minimise food wastage.
Cleaning pots and dishwashing to maintain availability of all items.
Preparing food to chef’s instructions.
Peeling and cutting vegetables, preparing grab and go.
Work as team with the chef on duty.

Requirements:

Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery.
2 years chef or bulk cooking experience.
High-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
Experience in a mining village operation preferred.
Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge.
Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Able to work a flexible FIFO roster.
Police Clearance or willing to obtain one.
Medically fit to pass Pre-employment medical.
