Kelly Sports Victoria West is looking for an energetic, organised, and motivated Area Manager to join our North-Western Region team.
THE TERRITORY
While our office is based in Brunswick West on Melville Road, this role requires managing programs across North-Western Melbourne. This includes (but not limited to): Melton, Deer Park, Sunshine, St Albans, Williamstown, Essendon, Footscray, Ascot Vale, Maribyrnong, Coolaroo, Tullamarine, Glenroy, Greenvale, Lalor, Bundoora, Mill Park, Epping, Mernda, and Wallan.

We are looking for an energetic, organised, and motivated Area Manager to join our North-Western Region team and help us deliver high-quality programs that kids love.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Area Manager, you are the heartbeat of our operations across schools, childcare centres, holiday programs, events and community hubs in the North-Western Region. This isn't just a desk job—it's a dynamic role where you'll coach a range of programs for children aged 1.5 to 12 years, facilitate sporting events, manage logistics, support our talented coaching team, and build lasting relationships with our community partners. You'll use your initiative to ensure every session meets our high standards, and when needed, you'll jump onto the field yourself to show everyone how it's done!
This position is specifically for an extremely high-quality coach. The role involves a balance of hands-on coaching sessions and critical administrative duties, business development, and mentoring/leading the team. You must be the best coach on our team—a leader whose skills, energy, and professionalism set the standard for others to learn from.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Bring Programs to Life
- Oversee the exciting delivery of sports programs, ensuring every child has a fantastic experience.
- Empower our Coaches by providing them with the schedules and resources they need to shine.
- Lead and coordinate our high-quality events, including activations at Flemington and various country racing event venues, ensuring top-tier engagement and operational excellence.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver our high-energy school holiday programs, ensuring they are fun, safe, and engaging for children aged 1.5 to 12 years.
- Be the expert on the ground—monitoring quality and driving continuous improvement.
- Provide feedback on program effectiveness and suggest improvements based on observations and participant feedback.
Inspire Through Delivery
- Lead high-energy sessions that get kids moving and having fun.
- Create inclusive environments where every child feels like a champion.
- Adhere to Kelly Sports' safety standards and guidelines during program delivery.
Champion Child Safety
- Be a guardian of well-being, ensuring a safe and supportive space for all participants.
- Adhere to Kelly Sports' child protection policies, including mandatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and professional behaviour when interacting with children.
Connect and Grow
- Build strong, positive partnerships with schools, community leaders, and childcare providers.
- Act as a compelling brand ambassador and communicator with the "sales" mindset needed to proactively engage pre-schools, kindergartens, and primary schools to secure and "lock in" new program partnerships.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities to expand our reach, promoting our offerings to potential new clients.
Support the Team
- Manage rosters and schedules to keep our operations running smoothly.
- Recruit, train, develop, and induct new coaches, while actively mentoring and upskilling our existing team to maintain our high service standards.
- Drive proactive business development to identify new opportunities.
- Manage administrative duties effectively to support operations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Skills and Experience
- A passion for sports and a contagious energy for physical activity!
- A background in coaching, teaching, or childcare.
- Strong leadership and the ability to manage time and people effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for connecting with kids, parents, and schools.
- Current WWCC, First Aid/CPR (HLTAID012), and Mandatory National Child Safe Training/Accreditation.
- Reliable transport to travel throughout the North-Western Region.
- Marketing skills and experience are highly desirable to help us advertise, promote, and grow our offerings.
