Killara Catering & Collective is looking for a motivated Casual Events Coordinator to join our growing team based in Canberra.

We are a dynamic hospitality and catering company delivering premium weddings, corporate events, private functions and major sporting events across Canberra and the NSW South Coast. Every day is different, and you'll be part of a passionate team committed to creating memorable guest experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in hospitality and event management while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

Hours: Approximately 15–20 hours per week, with flexibility to increase as our business continues to grow.

About the Role

Working alongside our Celebrations & Events Manager, this role provides day-to-day administrative and customer service support while also assisting the Company Directors with a range of hospitality and business activities.

You will play an important role in ensuring our events are well organised from the moment an enquiry is received through to the final stages of planning. You'll assist with client communications, event administration, preparing documentation, coordinating appointments and helping keep our busy events office running efficiently.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong organisational skills and is looking to develop a career in hospitality, events or business administration.

No two days are the same. One day you might be assisting with a wedding proposal, the next coordinating a corporate event, preparing function documentation, welcoming clients to a venue inspection or supporting the Directors with exciting new business projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Celebrations & Events Manager with the day-to-day coordination of weddings, corporate events and private functions.
Provide administrative support to the Company Directors.
Respond to event and wedding enquiries via phone and email.
Prepare event proposals, quotations and client correspondence.
Schedule client meetings and venue inspections.
Maintain accurate client records, event files and databases.
Prepare event documentation, function schedules and administrative reports.
Liaise with clients to ensure clear and professional communication throughout the planning process.
Coordinate diaries, appointments and general office administration.
Assist with planning logistics leading up to event day.
General office administration including filing, data entry, document preparation and maintaining organised records.
Work collaboratively with our kitchen, operations and venue teams to ensure seamless event delivery.

Skills & Experience

Ideally you'll have:

Previous experience in customer service or hospitality.
Basic office administration skills.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A professional and friendly telephone manner.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Experience within hospitality, events or administration is highly regarded but not essential.
